TMAC TUESDAY- Trio of Top-10’s for McCarl and Destiny Motorsports

PETERSEN MEDIA: With Mother Nature raining Knoxville Raceway out a week ago, Terry McCarl and Destiny Motorsports were ready for a big 4-night stretch of racing action this past week that saw the team record a trio of Top-10’s including a second place run at Rapid Speedway.

“This is a fun time of year when there are all kinds of fair races taking place, to go along with some big money races,” Terry McCarl said. “It is a crazy busy stretch as well, but running well makes it worth it.”

Tuesday night Terry McCarl and company were in action at Rapid Speedway. Picking up a second place finish in heat race action aboard the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading/TheSnowPlow.com entry, TMAC moved into the feature event where he would take the green flag from the 10th starting position.

With a very strong machine underneath him, the Altoona, IA pilot was methodical in his charge to the front. Able to make speed wherever he needed to put his car, McCarl would put on a show as he worked his way forward and finished second at the stripe.

Wednesday night the scene shifted to Dubuque, IA where McCarl again was very strong. In a torrid battle with Paul Nienhiser in his heat race, TMAC would get the better of him as he picked up the win and found himself in the Dash where he would finish third.

Starting fourth in the feature after the inversion, McCarl would jump into second and pressure Wayne Johnson for the race lead. On the second lap, McCarl would lose the handle and be relegated to the back of the pack.

Unfortunately for TMAC this would be the lone caution of the night, and it would make for some tough sledding from the tail of the field. Up to the challenge, McCarl would run his machine on the ragged edge as he came forward through traffic in the fast paced race.

When the checkered flag dropped, McCarl rebounded well as he finished ninth in the feature event.

Moving into 410ci action over the weekend, McCarl would battle with the All Star Circuit of Champions on Saturday in Knoxville, IA and Sunday in Burlington, IA.

Saturday night he would get off to a great start as he earned quick time honors in his qualifying group before winning his heat from the second row.
Running third in his Dash, McCarl would take the green flag from the fifth starting spot in the 25-lap finale.

Amidst a stout Top-5, McCarl would mix it up with the likes of Cory Eliason and a charging Aaron Reutzel as the trio jockeyed for position.

In what was the final feature before the impending 360 Nationals, McCarl would have a nice run as he took Doug Clark’s checked flag with a sixth place finish.

Sunday night’s event saw TMAC kick things off by timing in second quickest in his qualifying group before finishing fourth in his heat race.

Transferring directly into the 30-lap feature event, McCarl would grid the field from the 15th starting spot as he would close the busy week out with a 17th place finish.

“We had some good runs, and I am excited for the 360 Nationals this week at Knoxville,” McCarl said. “This is a fun time of the year to challenge your team, and I think we will be up for that challenge. Thanks to my guys, Rick and Barb Rogers, and all of our partners for the support.”
