David Gravel Puts On Charge With World of Outlaws

PETERSEN MEDIA: With wet weather greeting David Gravel and his Destiny Motorsports team as they arrived back to the Midwest, a one race weekend would see Gravel put on quite a show at the Deer Creek Speedway as he finished fifth and earned KSE Hard Charger Honors.

“We were a little off early in the night, but the guys worked hard, and we had a great car on what was a great track on Saturday night,” David Gravel said.

Timing the MonDak Portables/Ft. Union Supply and Trading/Benic Enterprises No. 7 machine in 18th fastest, Gravel would finish in the sixth and final transfer spot in his heat race, and move the Rick Rogers Construction/Maxim Chassis/Boss Signs and Graphics machine into the 35-lap A Main.

Lining up in the ninth row of the feature event, Gravel showed he had a very good car when the green lights flashed, as he began working his way through the star-studded field.

A few early cautions and restarts would help the Watertown, CT driver work his way forward, as he we would crack the Top-10 by the 10th lap. Continuing to go the right direction, Gravel would find himself in the sixth spot when the caution flag flew on lap 21.

With the caution again flying on the 24th lap, Gravel would fall back to the seventh spot, before using the restart to get back into sixth as he chased after Danny Lasoski and Daryn Pittman.

Using a couple of late restarts to his advantage, Gravel would jump into the Top-Five as he took the checkered flag in the fifth spot and earned KSE Hard Charger honors for his efforts.

“This was a really strong run for us, and I think it continues to show that we are getting better each night we hit the track,” Gravel said. “Eldora is up next for us and a place I am very comfortable at so hopefully we can turn it into a great night.”
