PETERSEN MEDIA: With the All Star Circuit of Champions spending their weekend at the Mercer Raceway Park, Jac Haudenschild and his Destiny Motorsports team picked two top three finishes as ‘The Wild Child’ ran second on Saturday night and scored a third place finish on Sunday night.
Kicking Saturday night off by timing in second fastest in qualifying time trials, the Wooster, OH driver would finish fourth in heat race action, putting him in the fourth row of the feature event.
Getting off to a great start to the feature event, Haudenschild took advantage of an early restart, as he made a huge move to take over the second spot, as he began chasing after, Dale Blaney.
Running the rim of the speedway, Haudenschild reeled in Blaney, and was the leader on the 10th lap, but Blaney did not go away, as he would take the top spot back at the halfway point.
Continuing to hound Blaney, Haudenschild would stay on his back bumper as he crossed the finish line in the second spot.
Back in action on Sunday night for the conclusion of the Western PA Sprint Car Championship, Haudenschild kicked his night off by timing the MonDak Portables/Renegade Rentals/Rick Rogers Construction entry in eighth fastest.
Picking up the heat race win, Haudenschild would advance to the night’s dash, where a fourth place finish would put him in the second row of the feature event line up.
When the race officially got underway, Haudenschild jumped into the second spot as he chased after race leader, Tim Shaffer.
In thick traffic, Haudenschild avoided near disaster as a slower car lost the handle in front of him, but he was able to avoid contact and race on. With a few cautions slowing the pace of the race, Haudenschild fought relentlessly to get by Shaffer, but as the laps clicked away, he had his hands full with Danny Holtgraver.
Slipping back to the third spot on the 22nd lap, ‘The Wild Child’ would not let the lead duo out of his sights, but he would be unable to mount a challenge, as he closed his weekend with a third place finish.
Destiny Motorsports would like to thank MonDak Portables, Benic Enterprises, Rick Rogers Construction, Renegade Rentals, Triple X Race Components, Boss Signs and Graphics, Rens Trucking, Driver Websites, Petersen Media, Tony Stewart Racing, GME Manufacturing, ButlerBuilt, Simpson Race Products, Kistler Engines, Keizer Wheels, DMI, Red Devil Brakes, Champion Oil, and Hoosier Tire for their support in 2014.
