PETERSEN MEDIA: The night started out well for Jac Haudenschild and his Destiny Motorsports team at the Butler Speedway with the All Star Circuit of Champions, but it did not end well for the team as contact on lap one of the feature event knocked the Wooster, OH driver out of the race.
With 23 cars on hand at the Butler Speedway, Haudenschild timed the MonDak Portables/Renegade Rentals/Champion Brand Lubricants No. 9W in fifth fastest, putting him in the second row of his heat race.
Battling for the second spot, the final spot to earn a berth in the dash, Haudneschild came up a little short, and finished in the third spot, putting him ninth on the starting grid for the feature event.
On the slicked off surface, Haudenschild got a great jump when the green flag waived, and as he raced into turn one with a full head of steam, contact ensued with a fellow competitor, and as it looked minor, the contact caused driveline issues, and the night came to an abrupt halt.
“Unfortunately our night came to an end early, and didn’t really get a chance to see where the night could have gone,” Haudenschild said. “We have a few races on the schedule this weekend, so I’m looking forward to racing again this week.”
