PETERSEN MEDIA: Jac Haudenschild continued his strong run with the All Star Circuit of Champions on Saturday night as he picked up a third place finish at Wayne County, and closed his weekend out with a fourth place finish in an un-sanctioned show at the Roaring Knob Speedway on Sunday night.
“We were pretty good on Saturday and Sunday,” he said. “We are running well with the All Stars, and we have been really competitive the last few nights out.”
With 25 cars in the pit area on Saturday night, Haudenschild timed the MonDak Portables/Benic Enterprises/Rick Rogers Construction entry in 10th fastest, putting himself on the front row of his heat race.
Starting alongside Danny Holtgraver, Haudenschild would get the jump, and go on to win the race, putting the Renegade Rentals/Champion Lubricants entry in the Dash.
Finishing fifth in the Dash, the Wooster, OH driver would line up in the third row for the 30-lap feature event.
The start of the race saw Haudenschild move into the fourth spot, as he chased after Chad Kemmenah, and on the second lap, ‘The Wild Child’ was able to get into third, setting his sights on Lee Jacobs and Andrew Pelker.
Keeping the lead duo in shouting distance, Haudenschild could close on them in lapped traffic, but didn’t have the opening he was looking for to make a move, and settled for third.
Sunday night saw the team check into the Roaring Knob Speedway for a qualifying race for Kasey Kahne’s Dirt Classic, and Haudenschild started his night off by timing in fourth quickest.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Haudenschild got a great jump and grabbed the early lead, and never looked back, as he took the heat win, and moved on into the feature event.
As luck would have it, the four pill was pulled for the inversion, putting Haudenschild on the pole for the feature event.
On the slick surface, ‘The Wild Child’ did not get the jump he was hoping for, and slipped back a few spots, but he was able to reel the lead pack in, as he ran in the fourth spot.
Running in the lead pack much of the race, Haudenschild would ultimately end his weekend with a fourth place finish.
“I can’t thank Rick Rogers enough for having me in his car this year,” he said. “We are racing a bunch, and getting better each week, and it’s a lot of fun.”
Friday night saw the team take on the World of Outlaws at the Attica Raceway Park, and after coming up just short of transferring out of their heat race, they were deep in the B main, and were un able to transfer.
